Two New Skills Tank Centres Open
Helping Local Adults Who Learn Differently Discover New Skills and Find New Friends
In exciting news, Skills Tank is set to open two new centres, one in Hopwood and another in Kings Heath both in South Birmingham. Since 1996, we’ve helped adults who learn differently discover new skills and find new friends via our North Birmingham centres – with growing demand for our services we’ve started to open hubs across Birmingham. These new centres will support and advance the learning of students helping them to achieve their ambitions and potential, at a pace they are comfortable with, in a friendly, supportive and fun environment.
At these new sites, through personal and social development, gardening and conservation, creative craft and design, music, and other leaning opportunities we’ll develop a greater sense of satisfaction and achievement. By incorporating: making decisions, taking responsibility, solving problems, improving behaviours we’ll improve communication and awareness skills/self- esteem and confidence all in a fun, friendly and person centred way.
Examples of some of the learning opportunities include:
- Creative Craft & Design
- Personal Social Development Embedding Literacy and Numeracy
- Holistic Health, Sensory and Relaxation
- Improving Self-esteem
- Communication Skills (Makaton)
- Life & Social Skills
- Health & Hygiene
- Gardening
- Keeping Safe
- Making Choices
- Community Opportunities
- Improving Behaviours
