Working with Skills Tank
There are different ways in which you can work with Skills Tank. This includes working for us as an employee, partnering with us and from time to time we take student placements. Here at Skills Tank, we love it when the public helps us to grow by joining our team.
Job Vacancies
We look for people with a true desire to work with adults who learn differently, some with behaviour that challenges. Experience in this area is always a plus but not a necessity. As we grow there is a need to increase the number of learning support assistants and occasionally senior learning support assistant.
If you feel you have the drive, passion and desire to make a difference to people’s lives then send over a CV to Debbie Tipper or keep an eye on this page.
Partnership Working
Currently, we have partnerships in place with local colleges, schools, councils, charities and social enterprises, as well as healthcare professionals and medical professionals. We also offer many students accredited, exciting but practical learning opportunities which help students to learn many valuable and useful life skills.

Student Placements
Health and social care students at Birmingham Metropolitan College have completed placements at Care First. Students would typically work across a wide range of settings which are either in Great Barr or one of the many community hubs. One student has commented,
I have learnt a lot about working with adults with disabilities, it’s given me a good insight into life in my chosen job career.
Over the past 2 years, we have worked with a local secondary school to give students who are experiencing difficulty in engaging with education opportunities to experience different forms of education. Students have engaged and worked well with us and the experience has helped to boost their confidence as well as their self-esteem. Communication skills and motivation was also boosted.
